Raymond C. Bershtein’s practice is focused in the
areas of commercial real estate, general business, municipal
tax liens and public and private finance. Ray’s real
estate experience includes the acquisition, development,
permitting, financing, leasing and disposition of retail,
office, multi-unit residential and industrial projects on
behalf of developers, investors and lenders throughout the
United States.
Mr. Bershtein also has substantial experience in negotiating,
restructuring and, if necessary, litigating issues related
to indebtedness incurred in connection with distressed real
estate. These responsibilities have included the analysis
and implementation of a variety of strategies designed to
maximize recovery in the litigation, bankruptcy, zoning,
environmental and other contexts relating to troubled real
estate projects.
Mr. Bershtein also represents a variety of businesses and
entrepreneurs regarding formation, acquisition, disposition,
capitalization, dispute resolution, ownership, succession
and related issues.
Mr. Bershtein is admitted to practice law in the State
of Connecticut and the District of Columbia. He received
his J.D. from George Washington University’s National
Law Center in 1983 and his B.A. in Political Science from
Emory University in 1980.
